Of course don’t give up on finding the right therapist for you. Connection needs to feel safe so you can trust them with the tender things you look for to work on. Understood how that doesn’t feel safe, and makes it simple for you to know how that might be different in their way of counseling, give them a shot, I’d say if they respond the way that feels like they heard what you were say.
